What is the ASTC?
The current version of the ASTC (Vic) was formed in 1989 to:
- provide members with opportunities for professional development through discussions, meetings, information sessions, networking, peer review, courses and workshops.
- increase public awareness of the profession.
The ASTC (Vic) provides members with a monthly e-mail newsletter, a quarterly printed journal, discounts and savings at Melbourne businesses, a contractor directory and a job referral service. Many organisations contact the ASTC (Vic) directly with technical writing jobs, rather than advertising.
The ASTC (Vic) also holds monthly meetings on the first Thursday of each month. These meetings are free for ASTC (Vic) members; non-members pay a small entry fee.

We are not registered for GST. No GST is charged to members, therefore members cannot claim GST on their subscriptions.
